Some, but not all, stores/restaurants accept credits cards. This is why we recommend to always have some cash on you. You can get cash with your credit card at an ATM machine here in Germany. Please make sure bevor your arrival that your credit card is approved to withdraw money from a German ATM machine.

All participants have health insurance through a private third-party provider. The cost for that is covered by the program fee. If you feel unwell, get in touch with the program staff so that they can make a doctor’s appointment for you. Please also provide an emergency address for us in your registration form, so that we can inform your family if needed.

What should I do when I have special needs?

If you have any physical impairments, nutritional or other dietary restrictions, please let us know well in advance (at least 2 months prior to the starting date) so that we can try to accommodate you.

Can I arrive earlier in Darmstadt or Germany than the official arrival day?

Yes, of course, you may wish to arrive early in Darmstadt. If you need a visa for Germany, though, entering the country before the date on your visa might not be possible. Please check with the German embassy in your home country.

If you arrive earlier than the official arrival day, we cannot provide you with accommodation for any days outside the official program period. Also, we cannot offer you a welcome service at the airport if you arrive early and you would have to find the way to Darmstadt and your hotel on your own.
